ASU Bio Meets Gilbert Bio

The future of Gilbert’s workforce looks bright after a showcase event held for businesses and Arizona State University leaders at Town Hall. A selection of Campo Verde High School students showcased their capstone projects, and had the opportunity to meet and build relationships with prominent leaders in the community.

Town of Gilbert Economic Development Manager Kelly Patton says it’s one of many partnerships aimed at developing the future workforce and attracting science and technology industries.

“These events are opportunities to help share the message of what we’re doing,” said Patton. “The Gilbert Office of Economic Development works to attract business, industry and grow existing business and entrepreneurship within the Gilbert community.”

From surgical devices to toy drives and a community garden, students showed potential with their ambitious projects. Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan with ASU spoke to inspire students to follow through with their goals.

“We are on the right path to making sure that we are going to be a vibrant city in this innovation-based economy,” he said.

All of the capstone projects will be on display for the public at Campo Verde High School on May 12th at 6:30 pm.
