Town of Gilbert Hosts 9-11 Ceremony
Gilbert residents are remembering those lost on September 11, 2001 after a Town of Gilbert memorial ceremony Wednesday morning. The ceremony is annual tradition to pay tribute to the heroes and victims of the tragedy that changed the nation. It was hosted at the 9-11 Memorial site on the Town Hall lawn for all to attend.
“After the attacks it was important for this country to heal,” said Gilbert Fire and Rescue Chief Jim Jobusch, “Gilbert’s memorial pays tribute to those people who died and acts as a community focus on remembering the events.”
Gilbert’s memorial is made partly from material from the World Trade Center site, and is open seven days a week for community members to visit. For more information, visit www.gilbertaz.gov/911memorial.
