Celebrating Gilbert Days

It’s a celebration of the town’s heritage, local organizations and the community.  This year’s annual Gilbert Days Parade brought thousands of residents to the Heritage District Saturday morning to enjoy the festivities.

People like Joe Martin have attended Gilbert Days events for 20 years.

“I’ve been to all of them.  All of it’s great especially for the little kids,” said Martin, who brought his grandchildren to watch the parade.

New residents like Samantha Felt saw the parade as a great introduction to the town and what it has to offer.

“I’ve seen a lot of the town in the parade,” she said, “A lot of organizations that are going on, a lot of the dance groups, a lot of things for our kids to be doing.”

More than 120 organizations, floats and performers participated in this year’s event, which was made possible by the Gilbert Promotional Corporation and the Town of Gilbert.

Gilbert Days festivities also included a rodeo, a carnival, a dance, and a 5K race.
